Testimonials

Spending 10 days in Colombia with Capra Travel and 94 Pueblos during the summer was an amazing experience. As an educator committed to learning Spanish, what intrigued me most was the Spanish language immersion that was promised … and delivered! There were many opportunities to interact with the guides and the locals that we encountered. We were able to see and experience a nice balance of city life and rural life, as well as a wide variety of activities that ranged from working with schoolchildren in Guática to a challenging hike in Valle de Cocora to relaxing in hot springs. A highlight was our stay at the Finca Los Arredondos where Don Omar and his family shared their way of life and their mission with us. Not only was it an incredible value for the money, it was also a unique opportunity to visit a country with a local as a guide and to see the county in authentic ways that surpassed what I would have seen and learned as a tourist traveling on my own.

This trip was absolutely incredible. Ana and Carrie are wonderful hosts and true experts in Colombian culture and language. They curated an incredible language-immersion itinerary that brought us to some of the most wonderful places in Colombia. It was a salve for my teacher soul to be surrounded by nature, share incredible meals and conversations with the owners of the coffee farm and participate in an amazing teaching and learning opportunity with a local school. I was immersed in language, but also in learning about social-justice, environmental sustainability, and community. Fascinating day trips to historic cities and healing thermal spas bookended what was an unforgettable and profound experience. Of course, I also made friends who I will hold near and dear to my heart forever!
